**Job Summary:**
JOB SUMMARY
Perform a variety of tasks related to managing the Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) for Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).
.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Managing the VUMC Respiratory Protection Program (RPP), this includes reviewing and editing the written respiratory protection plan annually and updating the OCRS RPP webpage.
+ Provide qualitative and quantitative respirator fit testing and training for faculty and staff as needed to ensure optimal protection from respiratory hazards.
+ Develop, implement, and update appropriate training for utilization of respirators including N95’s and Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPR’s), this includes assigning and reviewing all applicable training through the Learning Exchange.
+ Evaluate and update the current scheduling application (Acuity) to ensure it is effective and renew its license annually.
+ Work collaboratively with managers across the institution to determine training and compliance gaps and create solutions.
+ Evaluate and update current RedCap projects for fit testing and PAPR training data entry to meet the needs of the program and OCRS staff. Work with DataCore and RedCap administration to make and approve official changes to the RPP projects.
+ Coordinate communication between clinical management and Occupational Health to determine guidelines on fit testing requirements, PAPR training, and deferment based on job titles and assigned duties.
+ Compile and send fit test compliance reports to clinical management routinely or as requested, determine a plan for noncompliance.
+ Assist all Regional Hospitals and specific off-site clinics with training, fit testing inquiries, and written process/procedures. Work with program management to schedule and plan for fit testing needs regarding large specialty groups such as, Housestaff, Nurse Residency, Vanderbilt Medical Students, etc.
+ Manage any discrepancies with fit testing training records or requirements and communicate with department leaders.
+ Develop, implement, and update policies, plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to the Respiratory Protection Program.
+ Collaborate with external groups to determine fit testing needs for VU or other institutional students or volunteers working at VUMC.
+ Work with Occupational Health Clinic to ensure the Respiratory Protection Program is compliant with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
+ Recruit and train Super-Users (fit testing and PAPR) provide initial and annual training.
+ Manage all past and current RPP service data to streamline record keeping.
+ Assist in managing and delegating tasks to the RPP Associate Safety Officer. Communicate in an effective, diplomatic, courteous, and professional manner with all levels of faculty, staff, and administrators through the VUMC community on matters related to the Respiratory Protection Program.
+ Other duties as assigned.
