Safety Manager
Description

The Safety Manager plans, supervises, and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the formulation of safety standards, procedures, and specifications including methodologies and strategies that promote injury prevention and work safety. Collaborate with departments to analyze working conditions and procedures and recommend safety improvement processes. Supervises the safety and training staff, including BTWT, at the location (if applicable).  Responsible for coaching, counseling, hiring, and discipline/termination of employees Transdev is proud to offer:Competitive compensation package of minimum $80,000 – maximum $95,000 Benefits include:Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeksSick days: 5 daysHolidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floatingOther standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.Duties:Provides classroom and on-vehicle training to new employees, and retraining to existing employees, including retraining as part of disciplinary and performance management effortsInvestigates training and safety problems with drivers w/ F endorsement; offers solutionsAnalyze DriveCam and other performance data to identify training needs and trends.Prepare reports for senior leadership on training outcomes, compliance status, and workforce readiness.Administers the fleet safety program at the location, making sure that it is consistent with Transdev safety policy and proceduresAdministers Workers’ Compensation program at location, coordinating with Transdev contracted Workers’ Compensation AdministratorAudits accident data to identify trends and accidents that can be prevented with improved Serves as the central point of information and data for safety and training activity at the location, including maintaining data on trainees, licenses, drug and alcohol program (DER), and other training activity (i.e. OSHA), as well as safety data and trendsMaintains driver, and other safety-sensitive employees, qualifications filesPerforms other duties as requiredExperience, Skills, and Knowledge Required Bachelor’s Degree in business, logistics, or related field of study is preferredExperience with FTA Drug and Alcohol  and ADA Paratransit regulations3-5 years of operations experience in a safety-sensitive environment inclusive of OSHA, MIS, FMSCA,  FTA, DOT and other federal compliance experience5+ years of previous supervisory experienceProven adult classroom instructor experience.  Experience developing training syllabus a plusValid CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsementsSuperior communication (verbal and written) and presentation skillsMust be able to pass third-party tester certification within ninety (90) days of employment, if necessaryAbility to use standard PC workstation and facility with use of all MS Office applications required; general knowledge of database technology preferredKnowledge of Web Risk, Trapeze, Lytx, Geotab, PowerBi or similar computerized reporting systems preferredMust possess ability to lead and motivate associates Proven customer service and interpersonal skills a mustMust be a team-players and possess the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groupsMust be able to work flexible hours or shiftsMust possess or be able to attain certification as a Transit Trainer and be able to sign off on Class B licenses   PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions  50% of work is accomplished in doors and in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities50% of work is accomplished outside of the facilityPerforms physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materialsMay be required to lift up to 50 poundsExposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the jobExposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.Must be able to work outside in various weather conditionsMay be asked to travel to company functions or for outside training. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
