Safety Field Investigation and Execution Manager

Job Description

Hybrid: for this position is required to be on site 3x/week

What you will do (responsabilities):

Lead Product Investigations and campaigns executions, driving strategy through the SFI process.

Leads the investigation team that work with all internal disciplines at GM; Vehicle and Global Propulsion SMT Directors, Chief Engineers, EGM’s, DRE’s, Subject Matter Experts, Purchasing, Quality Systems, Supplier Quality, and Vehicle Assembly to develop a detailed understanding of issues. 

Works cross functional with key technical experts:  Regulatory Engineers, Crashworthiness engineers, and Engineering Assessment engineers.

Responsible to lead the team to clearly understand each issue throughout the process; from the initiation of the investigation all the way until recommendation/direction, which may potentially result in a Prevent Repeat Defects (PRD)/Learning Advisory

Responsible to facilitate and/or vote on the decision forums with key stakeholders

Responsible for flawless and timely Execution of Field Action Decisions by Coordination of overall execution details and track to metrics cross-functional (service, engineering, safety, legal, finance, manufacturing, supplier quality, etc.) activities required to launch a field action to dealers and customers.

Assist counsel in developing case strategy and in the technical discovery process

Location: São Caetano do Sul/SP ou Indaiatuba/SP

Your skills and abilities (required qualifications):

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Required) / CREA (Required)

Advanced/Fluent in English (Required)

Desired Spanish knowledge

Solid experience with thorough knowledge of vehicle engineering (Design Release, Test, and Validation Processes) (Required)

Knowledge of vehicle development systems and processes

Has advanced knowledge and broad experience in automotive engineering and understand the whole environment from product development up to production.

Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with employees, attorneys, dealers, and government representatives

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to manage a multitude of investigations/assignments, and simultaneously make progress on many issues at various stages of investigation

Serves as a resource to their team for strategic definition, technical expertise, interaction with other teams and departments, and company policies and processes. Guides direct reports and their teams on scoping out complex problems.

Exercises independent judgement and influence on key technical decisions within the area.
