Our subsidiary, Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH (ICT GmbH), with ~160 employees, develops and produces electron microscopes, the heart of our machines, which monitor processes in semiconductor production and classify the smallest defects on wafers. To meet the rapidly increasing demand from our customers in the semiconductor industry, our location near Munich, Germany is constantly growing.
Safety Engineer (m/f/x) Environmental Health and Safety
Scope of Position:
Safety Engineering role supporting Applied Materials’ RD&E and manufacturing operations
Work closely with site management in RD&E and manufacturing and other EHS staff to drive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvement
Ensures compliance with required EHS codes, standards and regulations. Act as a liaison with local, regional or national regulatory authorities
EHS Training capabilities & experience conducting training for employees and management
Ensures proper investigations of EHS incidents conducted and drive corrective actions to closure
Provides management with updates and escalation on projects/programs. Maintain communication channel with site/location functions
Interfaces with internal stakeholders regarding EHS aspects with ability to work with cross functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives
Manage consultants/contractors used to support the EHS programs including development of scopes of work, project management and budget management. Ensures that all work is assigned appropriately and that results are obtained and evaluated
Education and Experience:
Bachelor or master’s degree in the field of (electrical/ mechanical/electronics) Engineering or comparable education desired
German Certificate as occupational safety engineer (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) is required
Minimum of 3 years professional experience in an EHS function in a comparable industry (R+D manufacturing operations)
Knowledge of EHS legislation and implementation in Germany
Experience with general EHS auditing to identify opportunities for improvement and provide suitable recommendations for corrective actions
Good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
Readiness for occasional travelling from time to time
Excellent German and English skills
