The System Safety Engineer working in the Specialty Engineering group will contribute to a wide variety of projects based on our business needs. The programs will include the Sentinel A4 Radar. The engineer will work as an independent contributor with team leadership to perform System Safety Engineering tasks in support of project objectives. Safety artifacts that will be worked may include a SAR SHAR FHA HTS and HMMP Report. On a day to day basis: - The engineer will work on tasking which will include requirements analysis interface analysis and operations analysis as well as system safety test and verification. - Analyze hardware and software. - Establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of mission results. - Work directly with customers and project leadership to report out on safety analyses. - Analyze and recommend safety criteria in system design equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards. - Be responsible for preparing reports reviewing subcontractor safety documentation and analysis and leading various safety program tasks.. - Perform ongoing analysis of systems safety programs and how they affect all aspects of design through development and testing to ensure that the most rigorous yet cost effective methods are being adhered to. Level 2: BS+4-8 YRS or MS+2-6 YRSSystem Safety Engineering & AnalysisProficiency in developing and maintaining safety documentation such as:SAR (Safety Assessment Report)SHAR (System Hazard Analysis Report)FHA (Functional Hazard Analysis)HTS (Hazard Tracking System)HMMP (Hazardous Materials Management Program)1Experience conducting hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.Standards & Regulatory ComplianceDeep familiarity with MIL-STD-882E (System Safety Standard Practice) is essential.Knowledge of related standards such as MIL-STD-1472, AMCOM Regulation 385-17, and DO-178C is highly valued1.Radar and Electronic Warfare (EW) SystemsUnderstanding of radar systems, particularly Sentinel A4, which is a multi-function, X-band phased array radar used for air and missile defense2.Familiarity with cruise missile, UAS, and RAM threat detection and tracking.Software SafetyAbility to analyze software for safety-critical functions and ensure compliance with safety standards.Experience with software verification and validation in safety-critical environments.Systems Engineering IntegrationSkills in requirements analysis, interface analysis, and operations analysis.Ability to influence system architecture and design for safety compliance across hardware, software, and human interfaces

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $78.00/hr.
