Safety Director
Job Title: Safety DirectorJob Description The Safety Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and minimizing risk across all excavation projects. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain company safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. + Conduct regular job site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. + Lead safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing education. + Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions. + Maintain safety records, including OSHA logs, training documentation, and inspection reports. + Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to promote a culture of safety. + Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE). + Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes. + Serve as the primary contact for safety-related matters, including audits and inspections. Essential Skills + Proven experience in construction safety, preferably in excavation or heavy civil work. + Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations. + Excellent communication and leadership skills. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. + Certification in safety (e.g., OSHA 30, CHST, or CSP) is preferred. + Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Safety Manager or Safety Director Experience (5 years) + Construction experience, preferably excavation + OSHA enforcement experience + Safety training + Audit + Construction safety Work Environment The position is based on-site in the office in Carlisle, with regular visits to job sites around the south-central PA area. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
