Safety Desk ManagerPosition SummaryTransdev is seeking a Safety Desk Manager to oversee Road Safety Supervisors (RSSs) and Safety Desk Supervisors (SDSs) while ensuring strict compliance with the BPS–Transdev contract. The above represents the standard Corporate Policy.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure RSS operations comply with all contractual, safety, and company requirementsSupervise and manage SDSs and RSSs, including performance, scheduling, training, and disciplineCoordinate and maximize use of RSS personnel and safety vehicles to meet operational needsDispatch emergency responders (Police, Fire, EMTs) when requiredMonitor, verify, and ensure accurate data input into dispatch, safety, incident reporting, and timekeeping systemsEnsure timely completion, documentation, and distribution of reports, notifications, and follow-upsMaintain professional radio communication and enforce proper radio protocolsConduct monthly inspections of safety vehicles and equipmentMaintain professional communication with Transdev Operations and Maintenance teams, schools, public safety officials, and parentsSplit responsibilities evenly between Safety Desk operations and on-the-road supervisionAttend meetings to review performance goals, safety metrics, and employee concernsMake quick, sound decisions in a dynamic, safety-sensitive environmentFollow all Transdev policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving recordFive (5) years of passenger transportation experienceThree (3) years of supervisory or management experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work flexible schedules and additional hours as neededPreferred QualificationsDispatch experience in the transportation industrySchool bus or school transit experience Skills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and ability to monitor and audit data input for accuracy and complianceProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to multitask using radios, phones, laptops, and dispatch systemsExcellent organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with labor unions and diverse teamsAdaptability in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment Physical Requirements:Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors. About Transdev: Cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities across the U.S. contract with Transdev to operate their transportation systems, maintain their vehicle and fleets, and deliver on mobility solutions.
