About this Role

The Safety Coordinator at Ampacity is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs across our clean energy projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between field operations, management, and safety personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, support safety culture development, and maintain the highest standards of workplace safety across our organization. 

 

Travel up to 75% to job sites to provide on-site safety coordination and support. Projects may require being onsite for 1-2 months, depending on project scope and size. 



What You'll Do Implement and coordinate safety programs across multiple project sites to ensure consistent standards and regulatory compliance  Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard analyses to prevent incidents and maintain safe working conditions  Support incident investigations and coordinate corrective actions with departments to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance  Serve as primary safety liaison between field operations, management, and project teams to ensure seamless safety integration  Coordinate regulatory inspections and maintain comprehensive documentation to support clean audit results and avoid citations  Manage emergency response procedures and post-incident protocols to minimize impact and ensure proper recovery  Coordinate safety training programs and support safety culture initiatives to foster proactive behaviors and continuous improvement  Monitor safety metrics and trends to identify opportunities for enhancement and maintain high safety standards   What You'll Bring High school diploma or equivalent with relevant safety training and certifications  3-5 years of experience in construction safety coordination with OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification  Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and incident investigation experience  Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and manage competing priorities across departments  Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced construction environments  Preferred: CSP/ASP certification, solar/renewable energy experience, OSHA 510 Trainer, or First Aid/CPR certification 

Typical Work Environment 

Active solar construction sites with heavy machinery, power tools, and construction equipment in operation.  100% outdoor work environment subject to extreme weather conditions including snow and high heat, with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and uneven terrain.  Work at various heights requiring fall protection equipment.  Position may require unexpected travel and relocation to project sites with short notice.  

Physical Expectations 

This work is physically demanding in nature and requires constant lifting of 30 – 50 pounds, unassisted, with lifts of 50+ pounds requiring assistance.  Working schedule will be 8 – 10 hours a day and 5 – 6 days a week (weather permitting).  Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods while operating tools and equipment safely.  Must be able to participate in required training hours as assigned.
