Safety Coordinator, Global RAD Ops WHS
Description This position requires an individual that will be responsible for the proactive, day-to-day monitoring of the Amazon Safety program. This individual will assist the safety manager in monitoring safety compliance and provide assistance in the identification of potential safety hazards within the FC environment. The qualified candidate will engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce and management team as it relates to safety awareness and education. The candidate will communicate, both written and orally, to assist in correcting violations and promote the program of safety awareness. • Assist in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the workplace to ensure compliance with Company Safety policies in order to provide a safe and secure workplace for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests. • Maintain daily, documentation requirements to report activities, and other related safety prevention matters. • Perform work task Risk Assessments and develop safety standard work in conjunction with associates. • Complete ergonomic assessments on job tasks, incorporating findings into applicable Standard Work. • Provide immediate aid to associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance, or medical attention as appropriate. • Investigate, compile and develop investigative reports on any incident/accident that may occur; and ensure action items are adequately complete. Conduct Root Cause Analyses in conjuction with Operations leadership. • Coordinate with any outside emergency agency, Fire, Police, Sheriff, OSHA, etc. • Be a leader in customer service to the Operations team. Understand and frequently work in operations process paths. • Respond to situations, as they arise, based on direction from the Safety Manager. • Perform site physical condition safety observations, associate safety behavior observations; and, audits and inspections in relation to fire and safety related equipment. • Conduct training and participate in new manager orientations, associate orientations, and pre-shift meetings. • Assist in CPR/First aid, power equipment training and any other programs assigned by the Safety Manager. • Facilitate and attend 5S and Kaizen events. Basic Qualifications - High school or equivalent - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays - Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach - Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required Preferred Qualifications - 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $46,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $57,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
