Airswift is currently recruiting a Safety Assurance Engineer to work on a significant rail vehicle program based in Queensland.

Location-          Brisbane, QLD

Duration-           Contract – 2-3 months, Full-time hours

Rate-                $70hr - $90hr

Benefits-           Hybrid WFH

Responsibilities

Execute System Assurance / Safety Assurance activities for the rail program

Ensure life cycle safety assurance and compliance with relevant codes and standards incl.

61508, ISO 15288

and EN5012x

Coordinate delivery of hazard and safety in design activities, assessments, and reporting

Guide projects through safety approvals and certifications processes.

Develop

associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments in support of design type, testing and commissioning approvals, representing arguments to stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, operations, asset maintainers

Work with various engineering disciplines related to the rolling stock program – mechanical / electrical etc.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering5+ years System Safety engineering experience, ideally within a rolling stock / locomotive project

Knowledge of relevant standards:

EN 50126/8/9IEC 61508ISO 15288 Understanding of full Systems Engineering V-Lifecycle / INCOSE handbook standardsAbility to produce safety analyses and documentation (such as GSN, PHA, SHA, IHA, ETA, FTA, QRA, Safety Cases, hazard log management)An understanding of RAM / Human factors is desirableAustralian working rights – Australian Citizen, PR or Visa holder
