Job Description
As a Safety Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our chemical inventory systems. Your responsibilities will include managing the integration of Germantown's APIs into the 3E Generate program, maintaining the 3E Protect (SDS system), and overseeing the inventory of laboratory, QC, and maintenance chemicals.
ResponsibilitiesComplete the upload of Germantown’s APIs into the 3E Generate program for integration with 3E Protect and Nice Label generation.Conduct a comprehensive inventory of CR&D laboratory, QC, and maintenance chemicals.Upload Germantown's SDS to 3E Protect; over 500 remain to be uploaded, excluding CR&D, QC labs, and maintenance chemicals.Correct SDS errors in 3E Protect and ensure the accuracy of several hundred SDS in the system.Enhance the chemical approval system in 3E Protect to capture new SDS when new chemicals are purchased.Collaborate with procurement to develop a workflow for new chemical approval.Assist with site-wide training on the new system after the completion of 3E Protect upload and maintenance.Maintain the 3E Protect system and serve as the 3E Protect database administrator.Perform annual respirator fit testing beginning in September 2025 for over 100 people across multiple shifts.Ensure medical clearance is completed and maintain records of test results and medical clearance documentation as per OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134).Manage the inventory of gas detection and other instruments, ensuring equipment is calibrated, operational, and repaired when needed.Assist in training employees on the correct use of gas detection equipment.Essential SkillsBS Degree in Sciences, preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry, with at least one year of chemistry experience.Proficient in computer skills, capable of navigating file folders, and using software such as MasterControl and current SDS software after training.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in database management and system administration is advantageous.Work Environment
The role involves working both in the EHS office and the production area. The position offers flexibility with a start time between 7-9am, leading to a fixed schedule averaging 8-4:30pm, Monday to Friday. While the contract concludes upon completion of the assigned work, exposure to various departments within the facility provides opportunities for career advancement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
