Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesIdentify and anticipate safety and health concerns by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditionsAssess new equipment and procedures; investigate violations and recommend preventive programsDevelop safety systems, policies, and procedures; train managers and employees on safe work practicesEnsure compliance with Federal, State, and Local safety regulations; interpret standards and advise management on required actionsConduct audits, report statistics, and counsel managers and employees to enforce safety policiesPromote a safe environment by coordinating with plant managers, supervisors, and partnersMaintain safety information databases and systemsAssist Safety Manager with recruiting, orienting, scheduling, and training new safety staffCoach and counsel employees; monitor and appraise job performanceMaintain professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societiesContribute to corporate safety team projects and initiativesProvide management and employees with updates on government safety regulations and procedural changesPerform other duties as assigned by managementExpectations for All Team MembersObserve and enforce company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policiesMaintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and teamworkParticipate in process improvement and problem-solving initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, E$P program)Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks; consistently practice and enforce safe work habitsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBachelor’s degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, safety engineering, or related field preferred0–2 years of experience in safety or related fieldAbility to manage multiple tasks effectively and apply OSHA regulationsWillingness to work a flexible schedule and travel occasionallyProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to perform all essential duties satisfactorily (reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities)BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage (beginning after 60 days of employment)Paid sick leave, vacation, and company-observed holidays401(k) with company match (after 1 year, per vesting schedule)Career development opportunities, including the Better Futures Program (tuition support for employees and dependents)Additional InformationPost-offer drug, alcohol, and background checks requiredEmployment eligibility verification required by day three of employmentAbout Us
