**Job Description Summary**
Responsible for leading associates in an engaged manner to achieve desired results in an assigned manufacturing unit. Lead day-to-day activities of the unit by coaching associates on a continuous improvement path in their daily manufacturing activities and efforts. Coach associates to be accountable for safety, quality, production, cost, housekeeping and overall policy adherence. Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved while driving production performance to meet goals and schedules. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

**Responsibilities**
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Lead and engage associates on the production floor, spending a minimum of 75% of the time in direct support of daily operations.
+ Promptly address and resolve any safety issues or incidents, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
+ Develop and implement staffing and training plans to support departmental needs and associate development.
+ Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates to reinforce performance expectations and drive improvement.
+ Foster a learning environment that challenges associates to meet higher standards and embrace continuous improvement.
+ Implement BD Excellence components and programs to enhance operational performance and culture.
+ Ensure an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management. Represent concerns of production associates to management, as well as management concerns to production associates.
+ Apply company and departmental policies fairly and consistently; address employee relations issues and raise to HR when appropriate.
+ Actively participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
+ Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department.
+ Track and communicate production metrics to associates and management, ensuring transparency and accountability. Communicates these metrics and progress to associates and management.
+ Lead daily production operations to meet performance targets and maintain operational discipline.
+ Maintain regular and punctual attendance as a core requirement of the role.
+ Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Uphold and model BD’s core values in all interactions and decision-making processes.
+ Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
**DELIVERABLES**
+ Ensure manufactured products meet the established quality requirements.
+ Meet or exceed operational objectives (i.e. safety, quality, production, cost, etc.).
+ Effectively lead and develop others to aide in building a high performing production team.
**SUPERVISION**
Levels of Supervision: None, Small Team (1-~10), Medium Team (~10-20) or Large Team (>20)
This position has the following level of supervision:
+ Other People Leaders: None
+ Exempt Associates: None
+ Hourly Associates: Large Team (>20)
**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
**Minimum Education:**
This position has the following minimum educational requirements:
+ High School Diploma/GED: Required
+ Associate’s degree: Preferred
+ BA/BS Degree – Preferred
+ In lieu of an Associates degree, 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
**Minimum Experience:**
+ 3 yrs People Leading experience preferred
+ 3 yrs Manufacturing experience preferred
