If you have what it takes to become part of the Vistra family and would like to start a promising career with a global leader, take a look at the exciting employment opportunities that are currently available and apply online. **Job Summary** Works under minimum supervision: Individual is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting RTU communications equipment for all Fossil Generation and Renewable facilities in the Vistra Fleet Understanding of media converters, fiber optic media, serial, IP networks and protocols (Modbus & DNP3) Interacts with multi-levels within the organization as well as outside vendors Perform Setup, testing, troubleshooting of Remote Telemetry Units and associated equipment Perform testing of Level 1 communications and point to point checkout for new data requirements and new site communications between DCS and/or GCS/TSP Using schematic diagrams and system knowledge, troubleshoot and repair communication systems and equipment **Job Description** **Key Accountabilities** + Development, Configuration and installation of Remote Telemetry Units (RTU) for Thermal, Renewable & BESS + Maintenance of all plant RTU (Remote Telemetry Units) associated data telemetry between the plant DCS, Generation Control System (GCS) and/or Transmission Service Provider (TSP), including testing, calibration, functional tests, troubleshooting and installation of upgrades or changes to telemetry requirements. + Automatic Voltage Regulators/Power Stabilization System and associated control schemes that would impact ERCOT/MISO/PJM/CAISO telemetry, to include notification of testing to GCS/TSP. + Interface with outside vendors/business partners + Revise and maintain RTU drawings + Support diagnostic/calibration tests on generation facilities’ electrical equipment (Generator CTs, PTs, meters, transducers, ancillary equipment) that impact RTU telemetry to DCS/GCS and/or TSP. + Builds relationships with plant technicians and leadership **_**LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE._** **Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements** + High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. + Five (5) years acceptable job related experience highly preferred. (Documented RTU related training a plus) + Call outs + Extended work hours + Routine travel away from home + Field work required + Strenuous physical effort such as climbing, lifting; temperature extremes, and dusty environments + Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills **Key Metrics** •Job Knowledge: Possess/actively develop the knowledge and skills required to perform the essential aspects of the job as well as any other job specific educational and/or certification requirements, performs RTU work at a high level and leads/trains others •Teamwork: Effectively coordinates with other team members to develop skills and achieve organizational goals, Actively pursues new leadership opportunities, development of other RTU/P&C techs •Problem solving/Decision making: Identifies issues and problems, secures relevant information, relates and compares data from different sources, considers alternative courses of action, and makes good business decisions, can work independently, can lead projects •Client Orientation: Builds relationships, networks and coalitions with clients, peers and others.
