A Research Fellow position is now available in the Neuroregeneration and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory (https://www.mayo.edu/research/labs/neuroregeneration-neurorehabilitation) under the mentorship of Dr. Isobel Scarisbrick (https://www.mayo.edu/research/faculty/scarisbrick-isobel-a-ph-d/bio-00086606) . Our team is integrated with the Mayo Clinic Center for Biotherapeutics (https://www.mayo.edu/research/centers-programs/center-regenerative-medicine/about) and the Center for Multiple Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neurology (https://www.mayo.edu/research/centers-programs/center-multiple-sclerosis-autoimmune-neurology/overview) . Our research focuses on fundamental mechanisms of neural repair and intersects molecular and systems neuroscience with an eye towards translational significance. The research is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Minnesota State SCI and TBI Research Program. The PI is dedicated to the career advancement of each team member.
The successful candidate will perform research that:
+ Spans cellular and molecular mechanisms of neural injury and regeneration
+ Focuses on murine modeling, including neurodevelopmental disorders, neurotrauma, neurodegeneration and demyelinating diseases
+ Utilizes transgenic mouse models, stem cell engraftment, and pharmacologic approaches to unleash neural regeneration
+ The project will require the implementation of several technologies, from in vitro studies with primary murine and human cells, in vivo experiments in murine models, and bioinformatics approaches.
+ Opportunities to integrate studies that utilize human specimens and patient records is also available
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research.
