Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Right-Of-Way (ROW) Agent to join our team, supporting a cooperative in Southwest Virginia with major fiber initiatives. This role involves securing legal rights for land use and facilitating the expansion of rural broadband infrastructure.
ResponsibilitiesSecure legal rights to use private or public land for construction or maintenance of infrastructure, such as pipelines, power lines, and roads.Work directly with property owners to negotiate easements, leases, or purchases, explaining project impacts and compensation.Investigate property ownership and legal boundaries to ensure proper documentation and avoid disputes.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land use, coordinating with government agencies as necessary.Serve as a liaison between project developers and landowners, addressing concerns and maintaining positive relationships.Prepare and manage legal documents such as easement agreements and deeds.Essential Skills2-3 years of experience in title research, ROW, or permit-related roles.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Proficiency in AutoCAD and survey techniques.Ability to conduct outbound calls and schedule appointments.Experience in customer service and coordination.Additional Skills & QualificationsService-oriented mindset and ability to work independently.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid schedule with the flexibility to work remotely for two days each week. The role involves traveling to appointments and meeting with homeowners and courthouses in Halifax and Mecklenburg County. Candidates will receive a vehicle stipend and reimbursement for travel expenses.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
