Job Description
The Route Settlement Specialist is responsible for preparing, posting, and reconciling delivery tickets, load sheets, and invoices. This role involves investigating variances and auditing driver paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare, post, and reconcile delivery tickets, load sheets, and invoices.
+ Investigate over/shorts on load sheets and delivery tickets. Audit/review driver paperwork for return to stock, product dumps, and over/shorts.
+ Investigate variances on all routes impacting product shrink, including return-to-cooler variances.
+ Verify tickets and load sheets against control sheets.
+ Check information uploaded from handheld and other technology devices and correct problems.
+ Monitor completeness of route settlement packages.
+ Assist distribution department with driver training around route settlement and end-of-day procedures.
+ Confirm good returns are properly received by cooler with manager.
+ Complete route settlement variance analysis (daily, weekly, and monthly).
+ Coordinate between Distribution, Cooler, and Route Settlement departments on missing paperwork documents, product returns, and product dumps.
+ Problem solve and identify errors before completing customer invoicing.
+ Analyze route discrepancies and communicate with Distribution Supervisors as necessary.
+ Support and cross-train to relieve other employees at the facility during absences.
Essential Skills
+ Billing, invoicing, data entry, customer service, and administrative support experience.
+ Basic knowledge of Excel and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
+ 1 to 3 years' experience in route settlement, billing, accounting, or inventory management preferred.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Office or related experience, including experience using computers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.
+ Ability to work with accuracy and detail orientation.
+ Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
+ Strong interpersonal skills for positive interaction and effective teamwork.
+ Ability to follow directions and organize work activities.
+ Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Basic arithmetic skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
+ Typing speed of 40 wpm or more.
+ Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is based 100% on-site in a reputable local company in Frederick. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM (flexible to 9 AM to 5 PM), totaling 40 hours per week, with no expected overtime or off-hours work. The company values a team-oriented, hands-on work environment and offers learning opportunities. The team includes an Accounting Supervisor and two Billing Specialists.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
