Learn more at https://skilled.peopleready.com/referral/ . **Responsibilities:** + Leads crew in the performance of duties assigned by the Grounds Manager and Sports Turf Manager + Performs general policing of grounds for litter and debris + Performs weed pulling around campus + Performs woody shrub maintenance + This includes proper horticultural pruning of a variety of species of plants + Performs seasonal color plantings and maintenance + This includes the proper planting bed preparations for the installation of seasonal flowers + Performs perennial plant maintenance, including dead heading + Performs mowing and string trimming around campus when needed + Performs periodic standard inspections and preventative maintenance on tools and equipment + This includes insuring sharp blades are used on mowing equipment + Ability to operate motor vehicles, lift/move equipment, materials, supplies and tools + Wear protective clothing as required by work environment, Client and government regulations + Required to follow all company, client, and regulatory agency policies **Qualifications:** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years of experience in a trade or occupation in horticulture/landscape management + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos + Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees or the organization + Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations + A valid state driver's license + Must obtain Certified Fertilizer and Pesticide Applicator license within one year of hire + The physical requirements for this job could be lifting packages up to 90 pounds + Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell + The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls + The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds TrueBlue, Inc. and its brands welcome and encourage applications from candidates with disabilities.
