Job DescriptionThe Rolling Stock Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing rolling stock systems for metro projects. This role requires a professional with a strong engineering background, hands-on experience in rolling stock design, and a focus on ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet project requirements and international standards.
Design & DevelopmentDevelop detailed designs for rolling stock systems, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components.Ensure designs meet project specifications, operational requirements, and international standards.System IntegrationCoordinate the integration of rolling stock systems with other metro subsystems, such as signaling, tracks, and power supply.Address technical challenges related to system compatibility and performance optimization.Technical Review & ValidationReview and validate design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.Conduct simulations and analyses to test system performance, reliability, and safety.Compliance & StandardsEnsure rolling stock designs comply with international standards, such as EN, IEC, and ISO.Monitor regulatory changes and adapt designs accordingly.Project CoordinationCollaborate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of rolling stock design activities.Provide technical support during procurement, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases.Quality AssuranceImplement quality control measures to ensure designs meet the highest standards of reliability and safety.Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address design-related issues.Performance OptimizationAnalyze rolling stock performance data and implement design improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lifecycle costs.Develop innovative solutions to address operational challenges and improve passenger experience.QualificationsGraduate degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics or related field).Additional InformationMinimum 10 years of total professional experience, with at least 4 years of relevant experience in metro projects focused on rolling stock design.Proven expertise in designing and developing rolling stock systems for large-scale metro projects.About AECOM
