In January 2017 Diageo announced a move to enter the Irish whiskey market with the launch of Roe and Co Premium Blended Irish whiskey and a €25M investment to revive The 1950s Guinness Power Station at St. James’s Gate into a new Urban Distillery with Malt whiskey at its heart. Anchoring the Roe and Co brand firmly in the heart of the liberties within a stone’s throw from St. Patrick’s tower, the last relic of George Roe’s great distillery.
Set in the heart of the original Golden Triangle of Irish Whiskey, our Urban Distillery endeavours to create lifelong advocates in the visitors who join us at our Home in Dublin 8. A successful candidate will welcome guests to our home, and showcase the spirit of collaboration, innovation an exploration that lays at the core of Roe & Co Irish Whiskey.
Set across the 120 capacity Power House Bar & 60 seat cocktail garden, whiskey, cocktails and food come together, our two show-stopping experiential tour rooms and our boutique distillery store, this is a Whiskey experience like no other. Roe & Co Distillery brand Ambassadors will work across all areas of the business to deliver an incredible guest experience and convert our visitors into Roe & Co ambassadors in their own right.
About the Role
The role will be based in the Roe & Co Distillery Experience assistant, involving supporting behind-the-scenes operations, contributing to a high-quality visitor experience.
In their day-to-day role experience support they will be responsible for maintaining the smooth, efficient operation of our behind-the-scenes functions, ensuring that our visitors have an exceptional and seamless experience, from arrival to departure. From preparing and resetting experience spaces and co-ordinating tour logistics to maintaining cleanliness and supporting the visitor team, you’ll be the backbone of our daily operations.
Roe & Co Distillery Experience Assistants report into the Operations Experience Manager and Distillery Team Leaders. Distillery Experience Assistants will be supporting behind-the-scenes operations while contributing to a high-quality visitor experience.
Purpose of Role
The role of a Roe & Co Distillery Experience Assistant is to support our Brand Ambassadors in delivering incredible guest experiences in a high-end service environment by supporting the setup, support and breakdown of experiences to our strict standards while collaborating with tour guides to ensure timely transitions between experiences.
The role requires the highest standards of operating, while upholding standards of procedural practice in line with the quality management systems that drive excellence within Irish Brand Homes.
You will be responsible for:
· Distillery Experience Assistants should be reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated individuals, responsible for maintaining the smooth, efficient operation of our behind-the-scenes functions, ensuring that our visitors have an exceptional and seamless experience. Support the setup and breakdown of tours, tastings, and events to our strict standards.
· Distillery Experience Assistants will maintain cleanliness and organization in all guest-facing and back-of-house areas, including tasting rooms, storage spaces, and staff areas.
· Distillery Experience Assistants will collaborate with tour guides and experience hosts to ensure smooth visitor flow and timely transitions between experiences.
· Distillery Experience Assistants will monitor and report maintenance needs, supply shortages, or equipment issues to appropriate team leaders/managers.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· A hands-on, can-do attitude with attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
· Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or visitor experience support roles is advantageous.
· A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
· Passion for delivering memorable visitor experiences and enthusiasm for the craft spirits industry.
