VideoRay an AV company is looking for a motivated and reliable experienced Robotics Software Engineer to join its team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and communities!
The Robotics Software Engineer is passionate about working with complex electromechanical systems. The Robotics Software Engineer will contribute to the development, integration, and optimization of software for robotic systems across various domains, including perception, control, and system architecture. Leveraging a broad range of skills in embedded software, middleware integration, and system-level optimization, this role will support the full lifecycle of robotic platform development.
Position Responsibilities
Design and implement software systems for robotic platforms, integrating sensors, actuators, and control systemsDevelop and maintain pipelines for DDS-based communication frameworksArchitect and deploy solutions for real-time data acquisition and processing on embedded systems, including NVIDIA Jetson platformsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components into robotic solutionsDevelop CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployment strategies for robotic applicationsPerform field testing, debugging, and optimization to improve the reliability and efficiency of robotic systemsEnsure robust documentation and version control practicesAd hoc projects as neededBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Robotics, or related field2-5 years of experience in software development for robotics or embedded systemsProficiency in C++, Python, and software frameworks such as ROS2, Gazebo, and DDS middlewareExperience in building CI/CD pipelines and working with Docker for software deploymentStrong understanding of multi-sensor integration and real-time control systemsExperience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded and distributed systemsRequired to occasionally travel (2-3 times per year) to technical demonstrations and conferencesOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies
Experience deploying software to Jetson platforms via Docker and setting up container environmentsFamiliarity with other NVIDIA peripherals and development tools such as TensorRT, DeepStream, and JetPack SDKFamiliarity with agile project management methodologiesKnowledge of network protocols and communication interfaces used in robotic systemsKnowledge of ERP (Costpoint) systemAble to hold Security Clearances and visit U.S. Military bases (U.S. Citizenship)Environmental Conditions Critical to Performance
Work is in an office environment, climate controlled through central air conditioning/heating.Physical Demands
