Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Robotics/Mechatronics Engineering Co-Op located in our Libertyville, IL site.

Reporting to Process & Automation Engineering Team, the Intern will support robotic handling systems, AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots), ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) validation, and vision integration across molding and automation systems while collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.

What a typical day looks like:

Assist with robot path optimization and cycle time studiesSupport ASRS, AMR validation and mechanical improvementsAssist with vision system tuning and validationSupport safety interlock verificationParticipate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiativesAttend team meetings to support project work as needed

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

Junior/Senior student pursuing Bachelors degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering majorBasic knowledge of industrial robotics (robot motion, end-of-arm tooling, path programming)Understanding of AMR and ASRS systems fundamentals (navigation, material flow, validation concepts)Ability to perform cycle time analysis and optimization studiesUnderstanding of automation safety principlesStrong troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving skillsPrevious manufacturing floor internship experience a plus!

Co-Op Program Requirements:

Ability to work 40 hours/week (in person) during the co-op assignmentCurrently enrolled in 4-year accredited university3.0 GPA

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois)$16.74 USD - $23.02 USD Hourly
