Robotics and Automation Technician
🧠 Administrator – Systems Operator, Service Advantage (SA) **Location:** Designated Service Advantage Partner Site(s) **Reports To:** Partner Support Team / Field Technology Manager **Travel:** Local travel required; occasional overnight travel for training 🧩 Position Summary The SA Digital Automation Systems Operator serves as the on-site technical lead within Service Advantage Partner locations, responsible for operating and supporting a range of advanced automation systems. This includes robotic platforms, 3D printing technologies, modular control systems, and software-based infrastructure. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. Working closely with Partner Support teams, the Operator ensures optimal system performance, adheres to standard operating procedures, and proactively identifies and resolves issues to maximize uptime and client satisfaction. 🔧 Key Responsibilities System Operations & Technical Support Operate and maintain client automation systems, including robotics, 3D printers, workstations, and control platforms Provide hands-on support for electrical, mechanical, and software-based systems Troubleshoot and remediate issues using Linux command line and other technical tools Perform diagnostics, installation, mapping, induction, configuration testing, and commissioning Execute system updates and software patches per client technical instructions Review and apply technical documentation for supported systems Demonstrate digital competencies aligned with assigned products and role level Partner & Client Collaboration Serve as a direct communication link between Partner vendors and client teams Support client KPIs by maximizing system uptime and operational efficiency Maintain professional appearance and behavior as a role model within the organization Champion process improvements and contribute to team success Training & Development Complete technical training on client systems and technologies as assigned Stay current with evolving automation platforms and operational protocols Perform additional duties related to Partner Support as needed 🎓 Qualifications Requirement Details Education Associate degree or equivalent experience/apprenticeship in Robotics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical fields Technical Proficiency Familiarity with Linux, Java, XML, SQL, database administration, and PLC programming Preferred Background Vocational or college degree in Robotics, Mechanical, or Electronics; industrial PC literacy Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and perform hands-on technical tasks with dexterity Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills with peers, management, contractors, and vendors 💡 Skills & Attributes Expert knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and automation technologies Logical, methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, site operations guides, and system documentation Highly self-motivated, team-oriented, and focused on client success 🧠 Working Conditions & Physical Demands Primarily based in warehouse environments with standard lighting, ventilation, and noise levels Variable shifts and overtime may be required to meet Partner needs Frequent use of laptops, diagnostic tools, and client-specific equipment May involve lifting up to 50 lbs and moving equipment on wheels up to 400 lbs Regular stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to access and service systems Occasional overnight travel for training or vendor-specific certifications Come Create at Ricoh: If you are seeking a team driven by passion and purpose, come create with us at Ricoh.
