Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Roads Engineer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a Roads Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and overseeing road infrastructure projects that contribute to the Kingdom's transportation network and urban development initiatives.
Lead and contribute to the design of road infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.Conduct engineering analyses and prepare design calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications for road projects.Develop innovative solutions for complex road engineering challenges, particularly those unique to desert environments.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution and integration with other infrastructure systems.Oversee the implementation of road projects, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety standards.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met and approvals are obtained.Stay updated on the latest road engineering technologies, sustainable practices, and industry trends to enhance project outcomes.Participate in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery.Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any on-site engineering challenges.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred)Minimum of 6 years of experience in road design and engineering, with 10+ years preferredProfessional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent, with eligibility for registration in Saudi ArabiaProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/Bentley (InRoads and OpenRoads), and other relevant road design softwareStrong understanding of Saudi Arabian road design standards, regulations, and international best practicesDemonstrated experience in various road infrastructure projects, including urban and rural road design, intersection improvements, and highway engineeringKnowledge of desert road engineering principles and experience in designing roads for arid environmentsFamiliarity with sustainable road design practices and their application in local contextsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to engineering designStrong project management abilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocationEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholdersProficiency in English, with Arabic language skills considered a plusWillingness to travel to project sites and adapt to changing work environmentsAdditional InformationAbout AECOM
