Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Road Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will conceptualize, design, and determine solutions for technical aspects of road paths and construction, applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses to ensure efficient, economical, and compliant road design and implementation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Function as discipline Project Engineer, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.

Plan, direct, and supervise the work of the engineering unit or project requiring manpower and financial resources.

Lead Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.

Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical traffic and other studies and analyses.

Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations.

Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data; witness shop tests; assist in assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.

Develop operation and maintenance plans; standard operating procedures; O&M manuals; and conduct on-site personnel training.

Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations.

Perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM), and safety analyses.

Maintain affiliation with professional societies to remain updated on current technologies.

Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule.

Assist with other administrative and technical duties.

Recommend and prepare technical papers.

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Supervision Received: Supervising Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Discipline Engineering Manager

Supervision Given: CAD Drafter/Designers, Designers, Junior Engineers

Internal Contacts: All employees on project

External Contacts: Suppliers, Clients, Government Entities, 3rd Party Utility Providers

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

10+ years of related road and infrastructure design work experience.

Professional Engineer registration required.

Ability to lead teams and projects.

Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.

Familiarity with road design and infrastructure industry practices and regulations.

Thorough knowledge of current technology and future trends.

Ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for project use.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

PMP Certified  (or similar) status with an industry recognized engineering body

Previous experience of working in a PMC environment

Experience managing large tasks and/or projects
