Job Details

Cleveland Clinic's Department of Vascular Surgery performs more than 8,000 procedures annually for patients with a broad spectrum of vascular diseases. Our physicians are national and international leaders in treating aneurysmal disease, peripheral and cerebrovascular disease. We utilize both open and the latest endovascular methods to achieve excellent outcomes. The Department of Vascular Surgery provides comprehensive services for all types of vascular disorders, including new technologies for aortic, peripheral and cerebrovascular diseases. 

This RN role is part of the Weekender Flex Program at Cleveland Clinic, offering a unique schedule designed for both flexibility and balance. In this position, you’ll work two 12-hour weekend shifts and one 12-hour shift during the week—while being compensated for 44 hours and receiving full-time status and benefits. 

This structure gives you the opportunity to maximize your weekdays for personal time, whether that means spending time with family and friends or taking care of day-to-day responsibilities without the constraints of a traditional schedule. 

A caregiver in this position works weekend + 1 day/night, 6:00pm—7:30pm. Orientation is Monday - Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm for 6 months. No call required.
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.  

Perform scrub and circulating functions.  

Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program) 

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

*Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within six months of hire) 

One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

 
Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
