Not only do they have to be skilled in the operating room, but they also have to maintain composure and manage a rollercoaster of emotions as the status of their patients could change in the blink of an eye. Most patients will never fully realize what their surgical nurse did for them during their most vulnerable moments, but we do. What you’ll do:
Assist surgeon and surgical team in the ORCare for patients before, during, and after proceduresDevelop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patientsEnsure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and suppliesDemonstrate a high level of compassion for patientsJob Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Two or more years experience as an RN
Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
BLS with skills demonstration
Preferred Qualifications:
Endoscopy experience or perioperative expereince desired
Bachelors in Nursing Preferred
Where You'll WorkThe Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.
