**Responsibilities**
As our surgical services nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable.
Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, make sure the equipment is ready to go, and update family members on the surgery status during the operation. You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery.
To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.
**_What you'll do..._**
+ Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
+ Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
+ Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
+ Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
+ Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
**Qualifications**
+ Graduate of an accredited nursing program
+ Active Registered Nursing License in North Dakota or a current RN license that allows you to practice in the state of North Dakota
+ Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required.
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.

Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Lake Region area and surrounding communities since 1902.
**Pay Range**
$32.08 - $46.51 /hour
