**UW Medical Center - Montlake** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Registered Nurse to join our Liver /Hepatology Team.**
**WORK SCHEDULE**

**DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse in our Liver Care Line program, specifically a full-time RN to practice in our Hepatology Clinic held in Medical Specialties Center. The Hepatology RN provides extensive support, including facilitation of Hepatology clinic operations, coordinating emergency admissions, providing patient education, planning comprehensive care, clarifying physician recommendations, managing immunosuppression for auto-immune hepatitis and antiviral therapy for Hep B and Hep C.
**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
In addition, coordinating the complications of End Stage Liver Disease is significant, including treatment for ascites, esophageal varices, and HCC surveillance. These activities include managing external labs, use of database for lab trending, medication review and providing test results. Requires two years current/recent transplant nursing experience, current BLS, experience with liver transplant patients preferred.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
Provides expert programmatic specialty nursing care to living liver donors in the pre- and post donation stages of care, by maintaining:
+ Knowledge and care of living liver donors pre- and post-donation.
+ A close working relationship with the UW Living Liver team
+ Ability to interpret data about the patient’s health and donation in order to provide appropriate nursing care.
+ Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
+ Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the transplant patient population.
+ Ability to interpret data about the patient’s status post-donation in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group. **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 2 years of current acute care transplant nursing experience in a variety of areas
+ Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

$91,152.00 annual
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$165,576.00 annual
**Other Compensation:**
$10,000 Sign On Bonus
$4.00/hr weekend differential
$2.50/hr evening differential
$1.00/hr BSN premium
$1.25/hr Nursing Certification
