REGISTERED NURSE - ELECTIVE SURGERY UNIT - 36 HOURS WEEKLY - NIGHT SHIFT Sign On Bonus: Up to $10,000 Full Time Benefit Eligible Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday GENERAL SUMMARY Unit Description: Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 5 East Elective Surgery unit is a 20-bed unit specializing in post operative care. Our patient population typically consists of colon, urology, and gastro masses, cancer diagnoses, and some trauma patient overflow. Our typical nurse to patient ratio is approximately 5:1. We encourage continuing education and voluntary participation in unit committees, and are willing to train nurses of all levels of experience to be successful in this environment. Come join our team! + Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. + Implement and monitor patient care plans. + Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. + Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
