Position Details: Contract Length: 16 weeks Number of Openings: 21 Start Date: 10/6 Hours/Shifts/Schedules: 36 (3x12's) / D/NRotate - 7a-7:30p/7p-7:30a every 4 weeks *Willwork every OTHER weekend/holiday Setting: + Hospital + EMR: EPIC Position Requirements: + Minimum 2 years of PCU experience + 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but NOT required + OH RN license or compact + Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, NIHSS + Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry + Ratio: 1:3 PCU + Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professionalpractitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for deliveringpatient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care UnitRN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patientcare and assisting others in the management of patient care. The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimesalso called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgicalstepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition orintermedia unit.
