RN Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Emergency Department Approved for Pediatric (EDAP) Standards for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Collaborate with various departments concerning ED pediatric quality improvement, education, and case follow-up. Provide input and direction to the quality improvement processes and furnish ED Pediatric-specific education for personnel. The position will require the flexibility of hours.

Collaborate with the Base Station Manager, EDAP Medical Director, ED Leadership and Designated Pediatric Consultant to ensure compliance with the EDAP Standards, and policies and procedures established by the LA County EMS Agency.Serve as the ED Pediatric Liaison and maintain effective lines of communication.Serve as the contact person for the LA County EMS Agency and is available upon request to respond to county business.Implement, maintain and monitor the EDAP Quality Improvement Program including defining issues through reviewing ED documentation and assessment, collecting and analyzing data, and executing improvement plans.Participates in EMS Agency activities and represents Northridge Hospital in the pediatric advisory committee meetings.Responsible for developing continuing education in pediatric care for ED clinical staff in collaboration with the ED Nurse educator.Collaborates with the Base Station Manager, ED Leadership, Trauma Manager, community partners, and others to enhance the care of the pediatric patient.Assist with instruction of Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course.Ensure pediatric ED continuing education and competency evaluation in pediatrics for ED Staff.
Job Requirements

Requirements: 

Current and Active CA, RN LicenseMinimum of two years ED/Pediatric ED experience within the last five years.  Must be currently working in the ED.Registered Nurse: CA (RN:CA)AHA BLSBLS, PALS and ACLSACLS Emergency Nursing Pediatric  Course 

Preferred: 

Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse BCENBCEN (CPENCPEN-BCENBCEN) within 12 months of hireBSN PreferredWhere You'll Work
