The purpose of this position is to harness the skills of an experienced RN Hospital who recently retired but has a desire to leverage their extensive knowledge, while supporting the nursing care team by alleviating administrative task-based responsibilities to enhance patient care delivery. The RN will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocol in numerous units, departments and/or locations. **A caregiver in this position works** **variable shifts (4, 6, 8, 12 hour shifts)** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Provide coaching, teaching, and educational material as appropriate. + Assess and coordinate patients' admission planning, discharge planning and educational needs. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Evaluate, update and revise plans of care. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Three years of experience in an RN Hospital position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
