Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, KS
Facility: Ascension Via Christi St. Francis
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (36-48 hrs/week)
About the Role
Join a dynamic team providing high-quality care in a Med/Surg setting. This position involves caring for patients across stepdown, vascular, respiratory, and float units. You’ll use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assess and monitor patient conditions; identify physiologic and psychosocial changes.
+ Develop and update individualized care plans based on nursing diagnoses and patient needs.
+ Perform interventions according to priorities and hospital policies.
+ Provide patient and family education; revise care plans as needed.
+ Document all care activities and patient responses accurately.
+ Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment; monitor equipment and safety standards.
+ Collaborate with healthcare team and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
Requirements
+ Current RN license (state of practice).
+ Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg experience.
+ Current BLS certification.
+ Health certificate, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable).
+ Strong communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
Additional Details
+ Specialties: Stepdown, Vascular, Respiratory; may float to other units.
+ Bill Rate: $40/hr (Local). If 50+ miles, you qualify for travel stipends!
+ OT Rate: $85
