Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg & Telemetry
Location: West Burlington, IA
Facility: Great River Health – SEIRMC
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Shift: Nights, 36 hrs/week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced RN for Med/Surg and Telemetry units. This role involves delivering high-quality care to adult, geriatric, and telemetry patients in a fast-paced environment. Floating to other non-critical care units, including the ED, may be required.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
+ Monitor patient conditions and interpret telemetry strips.
+ Develop and update individualized care plans based on patient needs.
+ Perform interventions according to priorities and hospital policies.
+ Provide patient and family education; revise care plans as needed.
+ Document all care activities and patient responses accurately.
+ Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment; monitor equipment and safety standards.
+ Collaborate with healthcare team and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
Requirements
+ Current RN license (state of practice).
+ Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience.
+ Must be able to read telemetry strips; pass dysrhythmia test during first week.
+ Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
+ Health certificate, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable).
+ Strong communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
Additional Details
+ Hourly Rate: $55/hr (Local). If 50+ miles from position, you qualify for travel stipends!
+ OT Rate: $82.50
+ Ratios: Med/Surg 1:5 days / 1:6 nights; Telemetry 1:4 days / 1:5 nights.
+ Floating: Required to other inpatient units and ED if needed.
+ EMR: Cerner.
