Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., every 3rd weekend, every other Holiday.
JOB SUMMARY
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. Birth Center and Pediatrics are considered "sister" units and staff are expected to float between these units.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Experience: Previous experience in obstetric care and/or acute care preferred.
Special Skills and Competencies:
Required successful certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring via National Certification Center (NCC) within 1 year of starting orientation to the Labor and Delivery area and maintains certification.
Preferred professional certification in related to clinical specialty (from the Magnet approved certifications)
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.

Completes the following mandatory courses:
X Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
X Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
X Completes Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
