Job Summary:

The Hyperbaric Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This position is responsible for patient preparation, treatment monitoring, wound care, and equipment maintenance, while collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:Perform routine inspection, testing, and calibration of hyperbaric and ancillary equipment.Prepare patients for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, including orientation, risk assessment, and vital sign monitoring.Collaborate with providers to ensure appropriate screening and documentation for medical necessity.Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.Provide wound care assessments and dressing changes within scope of practice.Document all care and treatment in the EMR system accurately and completely.Educate patients and families on treatment plans, equipment use, and post-treatment care.Participate in quality improvement and data collection activities.Operate, clean, and maintain hyperbaric chambers and related equipment.May assist with insurance verification and scheduling of hyperbaric therapy and evaluations.Support wound clinic operations as needed, including rooming, intake, assessments, and dressing changes.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Education:

Required: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) programPreferred: BSN strongly encouraged; approved hyperbaric oxygen therapy technical training

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: Current RN license in the State of Michigan; BLS certification (American Heart Association)Preferred: Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT)

Experience:

Required: Experience in direct patient carePreferred: Experience in hospital outpatient settings, wound care, and EMR systemsSkills & Abilities:Strong knowledge of hyperbaric treatment principles and safety protocolsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentFunctional knowledge of compressed gases and emergency protocols
