**Description**
PeaceHealth is seeking a RN - Employee Health for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $47.34 – $71.00. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
**Job Summary**
Establishes standards of practice in occupational health and works with the employee safety manager to ensure responsible management of employee health concerns.
**Essential Functions**
+ Conducts post-offer immunization screenings, evaluates accident and illness incident reports, and assesses needs for education and immunizations according to specific job classifications.
+ Investigates and manages exposures to blood borne pathogens as well as other exposures to contagious diseases utilizing, comprehensive case management approach.
+ Maintains programs and services as required to remain in compliance with OSHA and DNV standards and mandates.
+ Participates in developing patient care aspects of onsite programs including development and implementation of policies and procedures to maintain the program.
+ Assists in the development and implementation of new policies and programs and continuous quality improvement activities.
+ Responsible for infectious disease prevention, surveillance and post exposure treatment and follow up.
+ Conducts new hire medical screening; TB screening; immunization of healthcare workers against specific illnesses.
+ Maintains confidential healthcare worker medical files.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Education**
+ Accredited School of Nursing Required: Nursing
**Experience**
+ Minimum of 3 years Required: Current nursing practice required, preferably in an acute care setting.
**Credentials**
+ Required: Registered Nursein state of practice and
+ RequiredUpon Hire: Basic Life Support
**Skills**
+ Demonstrated knowledge and interest in OSHA regulations, occupational safety, occupational exposure management, injury/illness intervention and case management (Required)
+ Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer: proficiency in Microsoft Office (Required)
+ Public speaking and community education program development and presentations (Required)
**Department / Location Specific Notes**
Whatcom: Certification by the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses preferred
UGMC: Reports to the Quality/Clinical Value Manager
**Working Conditions**
Lifting
+ Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
+ Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
+ Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
+ Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
+ Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
+ Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
+ Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
+ Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
+ Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
+ Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
