Position Summary
The Discharge Hospitality Suite (DHS) Registered Nurse plays a key role in facilitating safe, efficient, and patient-centered hospital discharges. Patients arriving to DHS are medically cleared for discharge and transitioned to the suite to complete final discharge processes in a comfortable, hospitality-focused environment.
The DHS RN focuses on discharge completion, patient education reinforcement, care coordination, and patient experience, serving as the final clinical touchpoint before the patient leaves the hospital.

Completes final discharge processes for medically cleared patients in the DHS settingReinforces discharge education and reviews After Visit Summary (AVS) with patients and familiesReviews medications with patients and provides discharge medication educationRemoves IVs, midlines, and PICC lines per policy and provider ordersAdministers medications as appropriate prior to dischargeCoordinates patient transportation, family pickup, and ride arrangementsCommunicates collaboratively with case management, social work, facilities, and patient transportCompletes final charting and discharge documentation in the electronic medical recordProvides a calm, welcoming, and hospitality-focused environment for patients awaiting dischargeSupports patient satisfaction by addressing comfort needs and utilizing available amenitiesEscalates concerns appropriatelyBENEFITS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current Texas RN license in good standing Minimum of 6 months recent acute care experienceBackground in Med‑Surg /Telemetry preferredBLS (American Heart Association) requiredMust be able to pass Telemetry exam upon hireCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
Registered Nurse (RN)Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
