Registered Nurse (RN) – Youth Detention Center | Butner, NC | Amergis Healthcare Staffing Amergis Healthcare Staffing is hiring a compassionate RN for a 13-week contract at a Youth Detention Center in Butner, NC. Position Overview + Location: Butner, NC + Contract Length: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension) + Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM + Schedule: Monday - Friday | 40 hours/week + Compensation: Competitive weekly pay – Local & Travel Rates Available + Benefits: Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and more Duties and Responsibilities: Direct Patient Care + Conduct admission physical assessments for juveniles + Administer medications and treatments as prescribed + Monitor and document health status and respond to medical emergencies + Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management Health Education & Counseling + Educate youth on health conditions, medication adherence, and preventive care + Offer counseling on hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices Medical Coordination + Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans + Write medical discharge summaries and maintain accurate medical records Emergency Response + Deliver emergency medical services when needed Compliance & Safety + Ensure adherence to infection control standards and facility safety protocols + Maintain compliance with state regulations and juvenile justice policies What We’re Looking For + Experience: Minimum 1 year in correctional or behavioral health nursing (youth experience preferred) + Licensure: Active NC RN license or multistate compact license + Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation techniques + Commitment: Reliability and dedication to fulfilling the full contract term Why Amergis? + Work with a supportive and experienced staffing team + Gain valuable experience in a unique and impactful setting + Enjoy flexibility, competitive pay, and comprehensive Apply today and become part of a team that’s changing lives—one patient at a time.
