Mercy Hospital's Coronary Care Unit (CCU) cares for patients that have been admitted from the Emergency Department and doctor's office or are overflow patients from the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit (CVU). These patients typically have had a heart attack or are experiencing chest pain. Some of the procedures on this unit include stints, Cath lab procedures, balloon pumps, ECMO and pacers.
