**Job Summary and Qualifications**
**Position Summary:**
The Cardiac Catheterization Registered Nurse is responsible for overall care and evaluation of patients having catheterization or other heart related procedures performed in the Catheterization Lab. The care and evaluation shall include medication administration, assessment, physician assistance and other duties which may not be specifically related to nursing functions. These duties include the responsibility for physiologically monitoring patients during cath lab procedures as well as performing sterile scrub procedures for both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath and pacemaker implantation cases. This position reports directly to the Cath Lab Manager. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.
**Position Requirements:**
1. **Licensure/Certification/Registration:**
+ Current unencumbered Florida or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License
+ BLS – Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart Association)
+ ACLS Certification on hire or transfer within six (6) months
1. **Education** : Minimum A.A.S degree from A.M.A. approved Nursing Program
1. **Experience:**
+ PreviousCardiac Catheterization or PACU preferred
+ Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.
+ Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer
1. **Special qualifications:** Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills.
