These 24-bed units feature all private rooms equipped with bedside monitoring and telemetry, supporting a high level of patient observation and safety. The primary focus is on post-open heart surgery patients transitioning from the ICU, along with specialized care for individuals with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs)-a service offered exclusively on select stepdown units (J51, J53, and J62). This environment offers nurses the opportunity to work closely with complex cardiac cases while building strong clinical expertise. As part of a broader network of cardiovascular telemetry units (J51, J53, J61, J62, and J63), these units provide care for a diverse range of cardiac and surgical patients. From coronary artery bypass and valve repair to minimally invasive and robotic procedures, caregivers are exposed to innovative treatments and evolving technologies. Additional patient populations include those with heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-device implantation such as pacemakers or defibrillators. The fast-paced setting fosters professional growth, critical thinking, and hands-on experience with cutting-edge cardiac care. Nurses on these units are supported by a highly collaborative team environment that includes RNs, LPNs, PCNAs, assistant nurse managers, and multidisciplinary medical staff. With a typical patient ratio of 4-5 per RN, caregivers are able to deliver attentive, patient-centered care while contributing to education, discharge planning, and community outreach initiatives. Known for their strong teamwork and welcoming culture, J51 and J53 provide an ideal setting for both new and experienced nurses seeking to advance their careers in cardiovascular care. **A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM - 7:30PM and 7:00PM - 7:30AM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. + Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program) + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross + One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) **Physical Requirements:** + Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. + Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. + Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. + Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. + Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $35.50 Maximum hourly: $55.60 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
