Responsibilities include: + Prepares charts for procedures, clarifying inconsistencies or omissions that could cancel or delay the procedure; begins the general admission history and medication reconciliation; coordinates the admission, doing pre-procedure teaching and providing a smooth transition to the unit. + Coordinates and provides moderate sedation for inpatient and outpatient Transesophageal echo and cardioversions. + Independently performs Tilt Table Studies and submits to Electrophysiologist for reading. + Independently performs Echo and Vascular IV contrast injections per standing orders as requested. + Independently supervises and monitors all modes of Stress Testing following all guidelines and protocols. + Triages and assesses outpatients who develop symptoms of chest pain or other distress. May need to take patients to the ED or notify PCP for further orders. Serves as resource to physicians and caregivers. + Provides nursing services/medication administration for patients in the Nuclear Medicine department. + Performs other duties as assigned. (Required) + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. (Required) + Strong organizational skills. (Required) + Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient centered work environment. (Required) + Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. (Required) **Working Conditions** Lifting + Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). + Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. + Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). + Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. + Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. + Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. + Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. Environmental Conditions + Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. + Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Mental/Visual + Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
