IU Health is seeking a dedicated RN - Associate Administrator to provide leadership, management, and oversight during the absence of administrative and management staff, ensuring optimal patient care and operational efficiency.
Position Overview
The RN - Associate Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining hospital operations by facilitating patient flow, expediting patient placement, and resolving emergent or unusual circumstances. This role requires quick decision-making, effective communication, and follow-up with appropriate departments and leadership to address concerns and problems.
The ideal candidate has substantial clinical experience, leadership capabilities, and familiarity with throughput and hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight in the absence of management/administrative staff.
Facilitate patient flow and expedite patient placement across units.
Serve as a consultant on emergency or unusual circumstances affecting hospital operations.
Follow up on patient care issues or operational concerns with the appropriate departments or leadership.
Support hospital throughput initiatives and promote efficient patient care delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required or relevant clinical/leadership experience. Licensure: Active RN license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies. Experience: 5-7 years of relevant clinical experience preferred. House supervisor, throughput, or leadership experience highly valued but not required. Additional Requirements: Completion of Clinical Specialty Professional Certification within 1 year of eligibility. Preferred Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Leadership ability to coordinate and influence staff and operational processes. Join IU Health!
