RN Assistant Manager, Home Care, Full-Time Days, Morristown NJ

Overview:
The Assistant Manager Home Care is a full-time position with Atlantic Visiting Nurse’s (AVN).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Promotes effective case management:
+ Collaborates with CRC and nurse educator
+ Conducts joint visits for complex patients and performance appraisals
+ Makes patient visits when indicated
+ Oversees scheduling of team
+ Monitors work queues and reports to assure documentation is done accurately and timely
+ Conducts case reviews with field staff to assure optimal case management.
Maintains departmental productivity levels for assigned staff:
+ Implements measures to assist staff in achieving productivity goals
+ Provides regular feedback to staff.
Promotes a safe environment for patients and staff:
+ Communicates policies and procedures to staff
+ Assists staff with addressing age-related safety concerns.
+ Provides feedback and counseling to staff as appropriate
+ Participates in annual performance review
+ Conducts joint visits with new staff to assure competency.
Participates in the agency’s Performance Improvement program:
+ Participates in utilization review activities and other audits
+ Identifies potential PI initiatives.
+ Review and develop action plans to improve team outcomes and reduce rehospitalizations
+ Provides timely response, follow up and service recovery to complaints.
Promotes activities to ensure delivery of cost-efficient services:
+ Collaborates with Quality Reviewers when indicated
+ Review and approve supply outliers.
Assures that staff meets required competencies:
+ Participates in orientation of new staff
+ Promotes role of preceptor among staff
+ Evaluates education needs of staff.
Participates in employee recruitment and retention activities:
+ Interviews prospective employees
+ Promotes employee engagement and retention.
Assures staff is in a constant survey readiness state:
+ Assure staff is meeting agency policies and regulatory requirements
+ Assure staff is utilizing appropriate infection prevention techniques
+ Assure documentation is completed timely and is comprehensive.
Assists with growing agency business:
+ Cross trains to learn new skills required for role
+ Accepts other assignments as requested to support agency.

Required:
+ Current NJ RN License, BSN or Current PT license
+ BLS
Preferred:
+ Three years of certified home care experience
+ Highly developed computer, critical thinking and communication skills.
