Logan Health Whitefish has an opportunity for an Registered Nurse to join their team as an Emergency Department & Special Care Unit float! Logan Health Whitefish is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in the scenic ski resort town of Whitefish, Montana. We are in the heart of the Flathead Valley, which offers an endless array of outdoor recreation, skiing, hiking and biking trails, whitewater rafting, and the breathtaking Glacier National Park. This is a unique floating position will primarily be working in the Whitefish Emergency Department, and will also be cross-trained to work in our Special Care Unit (SCU). We looking for someone with strong emergency room skills and the willingness to also help our in our SCU. About our Special Care Unit (SCU): Our unit is a focused 4-bed unit providing intensive, specialized care for adult patients who require more monitoring and support than a general medical or surgical floor, but who do not need ICU-level care. We care for patients recovering after surgery, those needing cardiac monitoring or advanced drips like insulin or alcohol withdrawal management, and occasionally pediatric post-op patients. Staffed by a dedicated team of nurses, the SCU combines teamwork and autonomy to ensure the best outcomes through vigilant, detailed care. BSN degree preferred. + Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in similar position preferred. + Prior ED experience is preferred. + AHA ACLS and PALS certifications + ENCP certification obtained within 6 months of hire + NRP certification (desired) + Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology and principles of professional nursing practice to administer and evaluate patient care. + Critical Care experience is preferred. Shift: Variable - 12 Hours (United States of America) Schedule: PRN, Typically works 12 - hour night shifts on variable days of the week, and will be required to work weekend shift and holiday shift rotation. Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed. PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs.
