Risk and Resilience Advisor - Enterprise Risk Management and Resilience & Recovery

The Role

WTW is looking for a Risk & Resilience Advisor to join our Risk & Resilience Advisory team. This role will focus on supporting WTW's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Response and Recovery services. The Risk & Resilience Advisor will assist in providing advisory services including ERM, Business Continuity and Crisis Management to clients in the UK and internationally. This home-based role requires travel to WTW offices and clients across the UK, with occasional overseas travel.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM):

Assist in engaging with clients to help them develop and refine their ERM capabilities. Support the delivery of ERM programme life cycles to clients, including risk framework development, capability/maturity reviews, risk appetite workshops, Interactive Risk Register design and implementation, risk response evaluation, and training/coaching. Provide support in new business propositions, account defences, and delivery of ERM-related projects in line with client expectations.

Response and Recovery:

Assist in conducting services such as resilience maturity assessments, business impact analyses (BIAs), and developing recovery strategies and plans. Support the development of response plans and participate in training and workshops. Help design and deliver exercises to challenge clients' response teams in managing crises, including developing exercise materials for use in WTW’s crisis simulator. Engage with clients to help them develop and refine their business continuity capabilities. Support the delivery of the complete business continuity programme lifecycle to fee-paying clients, including BIA, strategy development, plan production, exercising, testing, and awareness.

Proposition Management:

Support the continuous refinement and development of WTW's ERM and Response & Recovery product and service propositions. Support the team in the provision of objective advice and direction to clients and account teams on a wide range of operational and risk issues. Assist account teams in identifying and defining client needs to develop long-term client relationships.

Growth and Business Development:

Attend prospect and new client meetings as appropriate. Support regional and business unit leaders, industry practices, and other internal stakeholders in sales strategies, including designing and running client and prospect events.

Operational Delivery:

Support the Risk and Resilience Advisory Practice Leader and wider team in developing practice capability within regional offices and industry practices. Participate in marketing activities to promote services both internally and externally.

 

The Requirements

Qualifications:

Appropriate industry and/or professional qualifications.Relevant risk degree would be useful but not essential.

Skills:

Strong analytical skills and business acumen.Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.Proven ability to deliver presentations to large and senior audiences.Excellent stakeholder management skills.Strong planning and problem-solving skills.Good facilitation skills.Proficiency across the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Experience:

Some experience in either enterprise risk management or response and recovery, either in an internal role or with a professional services advisory firm.Experience in managing stakeholders.Ability to influence and compel, including confidence dealing with stakeholders at senior levels.Proven track record of delivering excellent levels of client service.An understanding of company strategy, operating environment, and business objectives.

Desirable:

Experience in the insurance industry.Good understanding of general insurance products, services, and the insurance broking process.Experience of business and operational practices in multiple industry sectors.Consulting or advisory experience gained in a client-facing and fee-earning role.Comfortable with using generative AI tools in line with WTW policy to augment delivery and innovation.
