This role sits in Marketing Commercial Finance team within SEUK Finance Operation. We are a team of 8 leading Samsung Electronics UK(SEUK)’s marketing expenditure. Our team handles over £300m budget for all product divisions and the end-to-end spend management process, from planning to closing, FP& A, reporting and risk management! The team is head up by Head of Marketing Commercial Finance. We have 2 finance managers running planning, forecasting and budgeting, 2 finance analysts managing marketing investment operation process, 1 risk and reporting manager for reporting and operational improvement.

Due to the increased risk controls and reporting requirements from external auditors and HQ/European Headquarters, we need to increase the FPA and risk management function of our team

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

Support the Marketing Commercial Finance Team and wider Finance/Controlling teams team with timely, accurate and robust reporting across BS/PL movements, critical metric reporting and data analysis.

Financial governance and risk control

Lead the delivery of the company’s framework for operational risk management and control and ensure control measures are implemented effectively

Work with all Business areas to ensure risks and controls are well understood, registered, and documented

Maintain the log of material Risk & Control issues (e.g. Audit identified issues, etc)

Ensure that all issues have actions which are accurately owned

Report issue and action status and progress

Promote Risk & Control awareness and culture across the business

Internal and External audit management

Handle quarterly external audit for marketing spend. Working with external audit partner to field all queries – collaborating closely with Sales and Marketing team to understand and gather evidence and back up as required.

Liaise with SEUK and European HQ risk management team for internal risk checks & control exercises and supporting their enquiries.

Lead the investigation process for abnormal cases and root cause analysis. Implement measures to improve process

Supporting Head of Marketing Finance and CFO with analysis for quarterly and annual audit reviews as required

Reporting/Analysis

Build and provide clear, actionable financial and managerial reports that showcase important data, risks, and opportunities.

Own development of reporting and other regular reporting in excel, to drive continuous improvement in financial data and analysis

Ad hoc project work to provide additional analysis where required, to Heads of Department, Senior Leadership and HQ/European head office team members

Drive automation initiatives for reporting and integrate data seamlessly

Hard Skills

Qualified accountant (ACA , ACCA or CIMA) with 6+ years’ experience in industry

Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards.

Experience of working in technology or FMCG sectors; B2B experience a plus.

Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP).

Ability to implement change process to streamline and make existing processes more efficient.

Advanced level in MS Office (especially Excel)

Good understanding of Marketing expenditure is a plus
