Description Amazon's Global Operations Services & Support (GOSS) Compliance & Data Integrity (CDI) vertical is seeking a highly talented and motivated Risk Manager III to own complex risk quantification and business continuity programs within the Global Risk & Business Continuity function—a critical team that quantifies and contextualizes operational risk to influence strategic decisions across the $50B+ infrastructure portfolio, translating disruptions, vulnerabilities, and resilience gaps into financial and operational impact scenarios. A successful candidate for this role will have an established background in risk management, strong analytical acumen with risk modeling and scenario planning, experience leveraging quantitative methods for risk assessment, along with excellent project management and communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate independently with limited guidance in ambiguous problem spaces, building consensus across Director-level organizations while creating predictable risk assessment frameworks and process paths. The candidate will also have a proven track record of managing and mentoring team members, with a strong focus on operational excellence, process improvement, and measurable customer satisfaction. Key job responsibilities • Own and deliver complex risk quantification programs that span multiple teams or focus on critical risk areas (e.g., implementing integrated risk assessment models across regions, building scenario planning frameworks for operational disruptions, establishing business continuity protocols for critical facilities) • Manage the full lifecycle of initiatives from idea through design, approval, build, launch, iteration, and deprecation • Negotiate and define obligations with stakeholders, setting clear program objectives and success metrics • Unblock teams and increase speed of delivery by identifying and resolving analytical, organizational, or resource constraints • Identify opportunities where risk modeling could unlock business value or inform strategic investment decisions • Partner with internal/external legal teams, policy owners, and regulators to fully understand and interpret risk drivers, regulatory requirements, and business constraints relevant to operational risk management • Oversee development of risk quantification models and scenario planning frameworks, including testing and measuring effectiveness of risk assessment methodologies • Provide long-term perspective and context for risk-related business and technology decisions involving operational resilience • Influence roadmaps, business and technology decisions across CDI functions and partner organizations • Contribute to risk-related policies and contracts that govern risk management implementation • Write clear and compelling narratives (6-pagers, PR/FAQs) that explain risk quantification programs and their business impact • Present effectively to Directors and VPs on risk assessments, scenario analyses, and strategic recommendations • Drive efficiencies in how risk assessments are conducted and maintained • Create predictable risk assessment frameworks that teams can follow independently A day in the life Amazon Benefits: Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
